We are excited to provide an update on the Student Accommodation Association's (SAA) ongoing collaboration with the Commonwealth Department of Education through the design phase of the proposed National Code to ensure the student accommodation element is industry informed.
1. The adoption of SAA’ s definition for student accommodation as “accommodation for the exclusive use of students”
2. Student accommodation elements of a proposed National Code to be integrated into the National Property Accreditation Scheme (NPAS) assessment framework to avoid unintended consequences and to obtain sector wide ‘buy in’ of the reform.
3. Position the NPAS accreditation as a prerequisite for quality student accommodation and identifies the property as meeting industry led minimum standards including relevant elements of a National Code.
The SAA National Committee understand this is an important piece of work and is pleased to provide our members with the opportunity to hear from and work directly with the Gender-based Violence Policy team on Friday 5 July 2024.
The meeting will be facilitated by Rebecca Bendall (SAA National Committee) and will be attended by Renee Hamilton and Maddy Parker (Gender-based Violence Policy team)
Note that this session is only available to SAA member companies, institutions or organisations.
Participating members will have the opportunity to raise their own questions through the course of the meeting but if you would prefer to forward questions or comments to admin@studentaccassoc.com.au in advance, Rebecca and Geoff will be happy to address them on your behalf.
